Happy birthday today to: Tyler Baker, Keith Heitzman, Eleanor Rogers and Jennifer Stancourt.

Anyone interested in joining Drama Club and/or Tech Crew should sign up at lunch this week.  Look for the table by the gym.

Picture MAKE-UP day will be TOMORROW.  This is not picture retakes.  This is for students who have not had their picture taken for a student ID.

Tech Camps will be run this Friday, Saturday, and next Tuesday.  Friday, from 3 to 5 p.m. OR Saturday from 10am to 12, we will discuss lighting. Saturday from 1pm to 4 pm OR Tuesday from 3pm to 6pm will be a sound and rigging session.  Sign up to attend on the bulletin board outside room 57 in the choir/orchestra hallway.

Davidson High School is starting a club called: “Hilliard Against Distracted Driving” (HADD). The club will spread awareness to students and adults about the dangers of driving while distracted.  If you are interested in this opportunity, contact Mr. Forte in room 168 or in the athletic office.

This is a reminder that Friday, September 3, is the deadline for Renaissance Appeal Letters.  If you still have questions about the Renaissance Card Program, see Mr. Bobek or Mrs. Fuller.

Once again the senior class will be selling hot dogs and chips during all lunches on Friday, September 3! Get a hot dog and a bag of chips for a $1.00.

Davidson Pink tees will be on sale this week at lunch.   Friday’s game is a pink out so bring $10 to get your Pink tee.

Hilliard Girls Softball Association (HGSA) is having summer softball tryouts on September 12th and 19th.  Registration will be 12:30-2PM and tryouts will be 2-4PM.  Pitchers and catchers need to report for tryouts from 1-2PM. Tryouts will be at Municipal Fields #1-2.  Contact Coach Forte with any questions.

This weekend, Hilliard Davidson is participating in the “2010 Chris Spielman Gridiron Classic”. General admission tickets sold at the gate will cost $2.00 more than usual, which will be donated to the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.  Adults are $8, Students $6. Pre-sale and reserve seat tickets will be sold at the OCC price on Friday in the athletic office until 4:00pm.

As always, Renaissance blue and red card holders must purchase tickets on Friday in the athletic office during school hours to receive their discount.  Blue Cards pay $1.00 and Red Cards pay $2.00.  White card holders show their card at the gate to get in for free. Students must present their school ID when purchasing tickets at any time (pre-sale or at the gate).

The Spielman Gridiron Classic T-Shirts will be on sale Thursday and Friday for $10.00 during lunch hours.  Proceeds will benefit the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.  If you buy your shirt Thursday you will have time to dye it pink for the pink-out at the game on Friday.

In boys soccer, our Varsity and JV White teams cleaned up last night against Westland with the Varsity team winning 7-1 and our JV White team winning 2-1.  Our JV Blue team had their first loss of the season in a tough battle against Pickerington North with a score of 0-1.  Wish the JV Blue and Varsity teams luck as they head to Worthington Christian Thursday evening.

Any girl interested in playing basketball this year who is NOT involved in a fall sport should plan to attend a brief meeting immediately after school on TUESDAY, September 7 in the cafeteria.

Last but not least, we are proud to announce the Hilliard City School District has received a rating of “Excellent With Distinction” on the 2009-10 local report card.  This is the third year in a row the district has received the highest rating possible.  Thank you to all the students, staff members, parents and supportive community members who come together each year to make Hilliard City Schools the best of the best – “Excellent With Distinction.”  Congratulations!

Have a great day, Davidson.

Note: There will be days when the announcements are delayed in posting due to special events or schedules. We will do our best to have the announcements posted daily by 11 A.M.
