Welcome! I’m coach Montgomery and I’m excited to meet everyone and play some golf! Below, you will find the optional summer schedule and tryout information. The summer clinics are optional but encouraged especially if you are new to the team or have limited golf experience. I also encourage everyone to sign up for Remind. This will be the primary means of communication throughout the season. If you have any questions, please reach out through email or Remind. I’m looking forward to a great 2024 golf season!

Summer Golf Clinics: Sports Ohio Golf Center
- all golf clinics are optional but encouraged especially for new students and players with limited experience
- Sports Ohio Golf Center (6100 Dublin Park Drive, Dublin, 43016)
- Meet at the giant golf ball near the main entrance
- Each player will buy their own bucket(s) of golf balls
- Bring a water bottle, golf clubs, golf shoes (if you have them), golf glove, hat (optional)
- All clinics are 9:00-11:00 am: June 20, July 11, July 25, July 30, July 31
Parent Meeting: Monday, July 29, 7:00 pm
MMS Band Room – 165
We will have a short parent meeting July 29 at 7:00 pm for all golf parents, students may attend but it’s not required. This meeting will provide some basic information about expectations and schedule and will be especially helpful for incoming parents and players. Enter through the main entrance or door D14, performing arts door near MMS stadium.

Memorial Golf Team Tryouts:
Each player will participate in 2 days of tryouts even if they were a member of the team in 2024. For tryouts, each player will pay their own greens fees. After the team is selected, all golf fees are covered by the school.
What do I bring to tryouts?
-golf clubs and golf bag
-golf balls, tees and glove
-water bottle
-greens fee $
-a great attitude!
How do tryouts work?
Each player will play 2 nine-hole rounds, keeping their own score. We will add the scores after the second round and select the 2024 team. The ideal team is 8-10 players. Coach Montgomery will select and announce the team after the second round.

Thursday, August 1 – Tryouts Day 1
-National Road Golf Course (5135 US-40, West Jefferson, 43162)
-meet at 11:30 am
-tryouts begin at 12:00 pm, parents can pick up approx. 2:30-3:00 pm

Friday, August 2 – Tryouts Day 2
-Wilson Rd. Golf Course (1900 N. Wilson Rd, Columbus, 43228)
-meet at 8:00 am
-tryouts begin at 8:30 am, parents can pick up approx. 11:00 am
-please wait for the final group, the 2024 team will be announced after tryouts conclude

Season Schedule:
The season schedule will be completed and posted on the website soon. The team will play 19-20 matches over August and September with the season ending at the end of September. Matches will be Monday-Thursday afternoons, no weekend with the exceptions of our year end tournament on a Saturday. Not every player will play each match. Due to the timing of golf matches and limited daylight in the fall we are unable to schedule school buses. For each match we will need 2-3 parent drivers. We will discuss this at the parent meeting July 29.
