Hello Weaver Families- here is the information for all tryout and practice times……….
All fall sports may start on July 31st per OHSAA. Not every sport will start on Monday July 31st, but per OHSAA we can start on the 31st. Here are the start times and dates for all fall sports..
*Girls Volleyball– week of 7/31 tryout times will be 9-11 AM.
*Football– Practice starts on 7/31 from 8-10 AM that entire 1st week.
*Girls Tennis– practice starts on 7/31 and for the following dates, 7/31, 8/1, & 8/2 practice will be from 10-11:30 AM. Please meet at Weaver tennis courts.
*Boys Soccer– tryouts will be 7/31 from 5:30-7 PM for the 1st week. Please meet at Weaver soccer practice field, that is the softball outfield.
*Girls Soccer– tryouts will be 7/31 from 6:30-8:00 PM for the 1st week. Please meet at Weaver soccer practice field, that is the softball outfield.
*Boys Golf– Tryouts will be 7/31 & 8/1 at Thornapple Golf Course starting at 9:15 AM. Please be aware that all potential players will need to pay for their tryout Green fees the 1st two days.
*Girls Golf– Tryouts will start 7/31, please contact Coach Heather Estes at Heather_estes@hboe.org for details. We will have 1 single team for the Hilliard District and Coach Estes is our coach.
Cross Country- B/G– Starting on 8/7 from 8-10AM. Please meet at Weaver track for practice. ** Time is still not set and start date is still up in the air.
Gymnastics- MS gymnastics is a fall sport at the Middle School Level and a winter sport at the HS level. Please contact Coach Brian Grier for tryouts times and any other information. Practices are off site daily. Coach Grier’s email is as follows: Griernuts@yahoo.com
If you have any questions, please make sure you contact the coach for each sport and also please make sure you have signed up your student in FinalForms, that is our outside source that helps us track physicals, paperwork, insurance, permissions, etc. for all athletes. The other benefit to signing up for FinalForms is that once you have selected the sport you want your child to tryout for, any communication that comes from the coach via email, you and your child will get an email from FinalForms indicated practice times, any changes, etc.
Last piece of information, please make sure you bookmark or tab the Hilliard Weaver Athletic website. This is where you will find ticket information for all HOME events, away events the ticket links will come from the coach for each sport, schedules, announcements (like this one), rosters, and other important information. You will see tabs all across the top of the page, season tabs, parent tab, calendar tab, etc.
