Patrick Barrett
Director
- Patrick Barrett is in his eleventh year teaching orchestra and his sixth year teaching at Hilliard Davidson High School. He taught previously for five years at Perrysburg Schools. His responsibilities include leading the four high school orchestras and assisting at Weaver Middle School and Tharp Sixth Grade School. Mr. Barrett feels very fortunate to be able to collaborate on a daily basis with middle school orchestra teacher Ginny Faulkner and sixth grade teacher Caitlin Bartholic so that the the orchestra students have the best experience and education.
Mr. Barrett has served as the Ohio String Teachers Association president and the Ohio Music Education Association South Central Region Orchestra chair.

The Orchestras
Chamber A Orchestra is composed of ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders that are the most advanced string players who can demonstrate the highest level of proficiency on violin, viola, cello, bass, or harp. Acceptance into this group is by audition only. The members of Chamber A Orchestra should be prepared for a rigorous rehearsal and performance schedule, including but not limited to six performances, state contests, conventions of performances, and clinics. Students in this group are expected to make all performances, including those that will involve travel or touring.
Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor is Required / Audition Required
Chamber B Orchestra is the second auditioned group composed of ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders that demonstrate a high level of proficiency on violin, viola, cello, bass, or harp. Acceptance into this group is by audition only. The members of Chamber B Orchestra should be prepared for a rigorous rehearsal and performance schedule, including but not limited to four performances, state contests, conventions of performances, and clinics. Students in this group are expected to make all performances, including those that will involve travel or touring.

Symphony Orchestra is a non-auditioned group of tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade string players who can demonstrate a moderate level of proficiency on violin, viola, cello, bass, or harp. The members of Symphony Orchestra should be prepared for a performance schedule that includes three to four performances per year and may also include adjudication. Students in this group are expected to make all performances associated with the group.
Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor is Required
Concert Orchestra is a non-auditioned group of ninth grade string players who can demonstrate a moderate level of proficiency on violin, viola, cello, bass, or harp. The members of Concert Orchestra should be prepared for a performance schedule that includes three to four performances per year and may also include adjudication. Students in this group are expected to make all performances associated with the group.
Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor is Required
