Tharp Band
The Ensembles
Tharp Band is a beginning band program. All students who are interested in playing a band instrument are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Tiger Band is a select group of students from the full Tharp Band and is an opportunity for high-achieving students to practice and perform more challenging music and musical concepts. There are 3 sessions of Tiger Band throughout the year. Students are identified for Tiger Band through playing assessments and daily participation. Tiger Band practices twice a week after school and has additional performance opportunities.

General Information
In addition to their instrument, your child will need a few essential items for each band class. These items may come with your instrument rental (please ask your instrument provider). If they are not included with the instrument rental, you can order them at the same time you order your instrument with a local instrument rental company, or you may purchase them separately at a music store. Certain items you will need to continue to replenish throughout the year as needed (i.e. reeds and valve oil)
