Teachers Receive Grant to Study Abroad

Hilliard teachers Amanda Schaeffer and Beth Boza were selected for prestigious grants through Fund for Teachers and the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation. With their grants, Boza and Schaeffer will travel to Lisbon and Madrid for two weeks to investigate how street art reflects the voice of their people. From this research, they will help Hilliard students participate in a student-led street art project that focuses on making marginalized voices heard in our local community.

City of Hilliard Seeks Input

The City of Hilliard is seeking input from residents, businesses, and employees to help plan future amenities and development.  The City is in the process of creating its first standalone economic development plan, known as Opportunity Hilliard. The plan will identify strategies to help Hilliard become a hub for business and identify opportunities to enhance the City’s status in the region and nation.

Members of the public are invited to fill out an online survey that asks for feedback on how to best support existing businesses, attract new jobs, and make Hilliard a destination.  Questions also focus on transportation, housing, and parks to address the City’s Hilliard by Design Comprehensive Plan update, which is taking place concurrently with Opportunity Hilliard.

You can click this link to learn more and take part in the survey.

Canvas Help

Parents can access their student’s Canvas courses through a web browser like Chrome, Safari, Firefox and/or Edge. If you would prefer to use the Canvas app, be sure you download and use the STUDENT Canvas app, not the Parent Canvas app. A browser allows for a much richer experience as a Parent Observer. In addition, we have already linked your Home Access user name and password to your student’s courses.  There is a Parent Canvas Course that can walk you through how to use Canvas better.  You can access the course by clicking here.

There are also other parent resources on our Parent University page, including College Planning, Home Access help and more.

Good Afternoon Jaguar Families,

Today is the start of Spring Break. The office at Hilliard Bradley High School will be closed from 3/21/22-3/25/22 for spring break. Our regular office hours will resume on Monday, March 28.

I would like to say thank you to all of the parents that had an opportunity to come out and support our choir students this week. The students did a great job in their performance.

Finally, I would like to recognize and congratulate our Jaguar alumni Braden and Keaton Norris as they represent Loyola Chicago and Wright State in the NCAA basketball tournament this weekend. This is an amazing accomplishment for the Norris family and the Jaguar basketball program. We wish them the best of luck.

Have a great weekend and a wonderful break. Go Jags!

ATTENTION PARENTS OF CURRENT 11TH GRADERS

In accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3313.671, all students entering Grades 7 and 12 are required to be vaccinated against meningococcal (serogroups A, C, W, and Y) disease. One dose of meningococcal vaccine is required prior to entry into 7th grade. This requirement is in addition to the Tdap vaccine that is also needed for 7th grade.

A second dose of meningococcal vaccine is required prior to entry into the 12th grade. The second dose must be administered on or after the 16th birthday with at least 8 weeks between the first and second dose. If the first dose of meningococcal vaccine was administered after the 16th birthday, a second dose is not required.

Written proof of vaccinations includes a photo copy of your student’s immunization record or a signed statement from your health care provider. Records may be mailed, faxed, or dropped off to your school nurse.

Please email records to Deborah_Ashline@hboe.org, or call me with questions, at 614-921-7410

Letters will be mailed in May if we are still missing your students updated records.
