Bradley eNews for October 25th

Good Afternoon Jaguar Families,

It’s hard to believe that next week will be the start of November. We are proud of the effort our students have shown during our first quarter of the 24/25 school year.

The Bradley Marching Band had an amazing time this past weekend, performing at the Bands of America Super Regional Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. This is the second largest marching band competition in the country this year, featuring 88 bands from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Virginia.

The final performance of our 2024 competition show, “Waiting On The Sky To Change”, will be THIS SATURDAY at 1:30 PM here at HBHS at the OMEA State Marching Band Finals. We would love for you to come and support these amazing performers!

Finally, congratulations to all of our fall sports team and coaches. As we begin to wrap up the fall sports seasons, we would like to thank all of our families and staff for their support of all of our students.

Have a Great Weekend and Go Jags!!!

ATTENDANCE

Did you know?

When students are tardy to school, that time counts toward chronic absenteeism.

Being one hour late to school, leaving school two hours early, or leaving and returning midday for an appointment are all examples of hours away from instruction. Even “just a few minutes” adds up to lost time.

Advanced Placement (AP)

AP (Advanced Placement) Exam Registration is now open! If you (or your student) are currently in an AP course, please register to take the exam on MyPaymentsPlus. Taking the AP Exam and getting a qualifying score helps students save time and money by earning college credit or advanced placement, which allows them to skip introductory college courses. Most colleges grant credit, advanced placement or both for qualifying AP Exam scores.

  • The registration window is 9/25/24 – 10/25/24
  • Each AP exam is $99
  • Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch have a fee of $53 per exam

See Mrs. Buscemi or Mrs. Wintrich in guidance with any questions!

Understanding College Loans meeting – October 29 at 6:30pm at Darby!

Most students will have some form of student loan after attending college.  It is important for students/parents to understand how student loans work and what their payment options are after graduation.  This meeting will help everyone better understand how student loans impact the student and family.

In order for athletes to participate, all of the following must take place.

**Physicals must be updated prior to participation.  Upload two forms from the physical — Physical Exam Form and Medical Eligibility Form — to the parent’s Final Forms account (paper physicals will not be accepted).

**Both athlete and a parent/guardian must sign all forms in Final Forms.

**Participation Fees may be paid beginning November 1 and must be paid prior to the first competition through your MyPaymentsPlus account.  All athletes, including free lunch, must complete the payment process through MyPaymentsPlus.  Free lunch must check out through MyPaymentsPlus by paying $0 payment.  Fees must be paid prior to the first competition.

ATHLETES MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITIVE SEASON UNTIL ALL OF THE ABOVE IS COMPLETED.

Bradley Theater Presents….

Our next show, Blithe Spirit, is a classic comedy you won’t want to miss!

Written by Noël Coward, Blithe Spirit follows the story of Charles Condomine, an ill-tempered novelist desperately seeking content for his next book. In hopes of gathering material to write about, Charles hosts a séance only to accidentally summon the ghost of his late first wife, Elvira.  Elvira’s return creates chaos and hilarity as she tries to reclaim her husband and drive away his second wife, Ruth.

Thursday 11/14 and Friday 11/15 @ 7pm
Saturday 11/16 @ 2pm and 7pm
