Good Afternoon Jaguar Families,

As we head into the long weekend, I would like to thank our families who donated this quarter to the PTO staff coffee cart. Our staff truly appreciates the support shown by our amazing families here at Bradley.

On Wednesday, March 6th, from 7:40 am to 12:00 pm, we will administer the SAT to all Junior students. Students not taking the SAT will work remotely from home for the day. We will send more information about the day’s activities as we get closer to the date.

As we move through the second half of this school year, we want to emphasize the importance of our students being self-advocates, a key trait in our Portrait of a Learner. This means students recognize the importance of physical, mental, social-emotional, and digital wellness and can build a healthy self-image and self-esteem to pursue their individual goals.

Regular attendance is an essential part of this journey. Check out this video, where Samuel Davis, an executive business consultant, and parent, shares how these skills apply to all career pathways. Thank you for supporting your child’s regular attendance.

Finally, Bradley High School will be closed on Friday, February 16th, and Monday, February 19th. Students will resume classes on Tuesday, February 20th. I hope everyone enjoys their time with friends and family over the next few days.

Have a great weekend, and Go Jags!

The night was a success, and we look forward to more events like this as we continue to work to recognize our military families in Hilliard.

I would like to thank all of our families and staff who had an opportunity to attendHilliard Bradley Theater’s presentation of Arsenic and Old Lace last weekend. We are so proud of our talented students!

Congratulations to the Bradley Ethics Bowl team comprised of seniors Reem Kadimi Skalli, Noha Abu, Lindsey Cruz-Garcia, Sammi Lewis, and junior Noelle Demianenko, for their excellent performance at the Ohio High School Regional Ethics Bowl Contest, held at the University of Findlay on Saturday, January 27th.  Bradley won or tied all three of their preliminary rounds, and they defeated Hilliard Darby in the final round to advance to the Divisional Playoff against the Cincinnati High School Ethics Bowl Regional winner on Wednesday, February 7th. The winner of that competition will advance to the National competition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in April! Excellent work ladies and good luck in the next round!

Finally, at Hilliard City Schools, our core mission is to prepare students to be Ready for Tomorrow.  We believe every student possesses the ability to achieve this mission.  Whether your child dreams of becoming a scientist, an artist, a teacher or joining the military, consistent attendance sets the stage for their success to become resilient learners.  Regular attendance is the cornerstone of how to make this happen for every student, without exception.

HILLIARD BRADLEY THEATER PRESENTS “QUICKSHOT’S ALIBI”

One show only, Friday February 9 at 7 pm (doors open at 6:40 pm)

Hilliard Bradley High School, Performing Arts Center

Admission is FREE (we will be accepting donations at the door)

This year, Bradley Theater’s annual student one act (written, directed, and run by our theater students) was based on a script writing contest.  The winner was “Quickshot’s Alibi” by Madison Sheard.  It is being directed by Julian Perez.

“It’s the heart of the Goldrush era, and Canyon Springs has been overrun by a group of outlaws who call themselves “The Blackheart Mafia.” Naturally, the townsfolk turn to local hero, Quickshot, to put an end to the mafia’s tyrannical rule. Yet, unfortunate timing would see her retire just before their arrival, and she’s not looking to get back into crime fighting. In a shocking turn of events, an all too eager member of The Blackheart Mafia inspires Quickshot to put her personal grievances aside, and fight for the greater good to save Canyon Springs. Unbeknownst to Quickshot, the one who took her out of the business is the one to drag her right back in.”

Step into the shoes of drama critic Mortimer Brewster as his picture-perfect life takes a hilariously horrifying turn as the bodies pile up and the plot twists like a bowl of poisoned candy. You’ll find yourself howling with laughter at the absurdity of it all.

But amidst the chaos, “Arsenic and Old Lace” also offers a heartwarming glimpse into the power of family, reminding us that even the most eccentric of relatives can hold the key to our happiness.

Get your tickets today and prepare for a few hours of theatrical mayhem that will leave you gasping for breath (from laughter, of course).

Good Afternoon Jaguar Parents,

This was another great week at Bradley High School. The third quarter of the school year is well underway, and I hope everything is going well for you and your students.

Is there a staff member who has made or is making a difference in your student’s life at school? Don’t forget, the Embrace-Empower-Inspire Awards are presented throughout the school year to staff members who exemplify the values of Hilliard City Schools and make exceptional contributions to our district.  You can click here to nominate a staff member from Bradley or from another building.  Award winners are recognized at their school building, on social media, and at Board of Education meetings each month.

Your child’s regular attendance at school is vital for their academic growth and success. Each day missed is a missed opportunity for learning and growth. Your support in promoting consistent attendance sets the stage for their overall development. Let’s work together to make every school day count.

Monday, Bradley High School will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Have a great three-day weekend, and Go Jags!!!

Cold Weather Precautions

As we anticipate colder temperatures next week, we want to ensure the safety and well-being of our students during their commute to school. With the possibility of colder weather affecting road conditions, there may be transportation delays. Please check your emails or phone messages in the morning for any updates regarding transportation delays. This will help ensure that your child is not waiting at the bus stop for an extended period in the cold.

For families with students who walk to school, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the cold weather.  We plan for outdoor recess time as much as possible and try to only keep students in when it dips below 20 degrees.

If your child is in need of winter gear, including coats, hats, gloves, or scarves, please reach out to your student’s teacher, counselor, or principal. We have donated winter clothing available, and able to provide the necessary winter gear to ensure your child stays warm and comfortable.  Stay warm and safe!

K-12 Math Course of Study Revision

The Hilliard City School District is in the process of revising its K-12 Mathematics Course of Study. We invite all families and the community to preview the K-12 Mathematics Draft Course of Study and provide feedback by clicking here.

Kindergarten Registration – Open

Hilliard City School District will begin Kindergarten Registration on Monday, January 8, 2024, for the 2024-25 school year.  If your child will be five years of age on or before September 30, 2024, they are eligible to start kindergarten during the 2024-25 school year.

Parents can access the registration website (on or after January 8, 2024) to complete online registration. The earlier you complete the registration process, the more likely your student will be able to attend the school assigned to your address.  You will also have more flexibility in scheduling the kindergarten screening.  Once you begin the registration process, you have 30 days to complete it, or your application will be deleted.  Once finished, the Welcome Center will schedule your screening appointment for August.

Please don’t delay.  The District uses registration numbers in the spring to determine how many kindergarten classes will be offered at each building. Contact the Hilliard City Schools Welcome Center at (614) 921-7096 with questions.  For more information, please visit the Hilliard City Schools’ website atwww.hilliardschools.org.

Community Survey

Beginning Monday, January 15, you may be contacted by phone or text to participate in a scientific community survey.  In collaboration with the district, Fallon Research will be conducting the survey to gather valuable feedback from our community. Your input is crucial, and we encourage your participation to help shape the future of our district. Thank you for your time and contribution.

Parent Accounts for Canvas and How to use them

Canvas is the online Learning Management System we use in Hilliard Schools. Your child’s teacher(s) may use Canvas in a variety of ways.  Some examples are: to provide access to important resources, to create online discussions where students can post and reply, and to receive, evaluate, and/or provide feedback on work your child submits digitally.  As a parent or guardian, you are already enrolled as an Observer in all of your students’ active Canvas courses.  To login to Canvas as an observer, go to hilliard.instructure.com or click on the link to Canvas from our HCSD Parent page. Your parent observer username and password match your username and password for Home Access Center.  If you want to learn more about how to navigate Canvas as a parent, find the course “How to Use Canvas for Parents” on the homepage after you login.
