Here are your announcements for today:

Audition Packets for the Student Directed Shows are available now in the Choir Room. There are many roles to fill! Auditions will be at 5pm on Tuesday, October 21st. Parent permission is required to audition, so fill out your forms before Tuesday! 

Chess Club will be having another chess tournament with a $100 prize on Wednesday October 22nd. The tournament is free to play, and there will be free snacks at the event.

Interested in healthcare, medicine, research, or science? The first Future of Medicine club meeting will be on October 29th in room 232. We will be playing games, having snacks, and talking about future plans. All are welcome!

The next HOPE Squad meeting will be on Thursday October 30th in the media center starting at 2:35 p.m. Please see the announcements page in Canvas to see future meeting dates. If you have a conflict and are unable to attend please fill out the google form that is attached on the Hope Squad Canvas page.

Senior Student Council members are sponsoring a Blood Drive in the Field House on Oct. 30 from 8 am to 2 pm. Sign up to save a life. The minimum age to donate is 16. Sixteen year olds do need parental permission. Get a permission slip from Mrs. Rader in room 207. Sign up using the qr code displayed on the TVs in the hallway. 

It is time to sign up for the annual American Legion Americanism and Government test. The test is scheduled for Thursday, October 30th, 3rd period in the media center. This is a great opportunity to test your knowledge and awareness of the American government, AND compete for a cash prize. Ask your history teacher for details or see Mr. Biddinger or Ms. Hummel with any specific questions. 

If you have gymnastics experience- The Gymnastics Team wants YOU!! Come join the team! It is a fun, competitive environment! Pre-Season Conditioning is on Thursdays 5:15-6:00pm at the Bradley High School Weight Room for all three schools. Tryouts are Friday Oct 31st & Saturday November 1st. There is no maximum number of athletes, you just have to be able to meet Minimum Requirements! Any student interested in a career that could include the construction trades- there is a field trip to the Carpenter Training Center coming up during the school day on October 23rd. Space is limited, so please send a Canvas message to Mr. Hunt by end of day on October 20th to join.

Seniors and juniors looking to fast-track a career in the in-demand manufacturing industry, we have visit days coming up with Worthington Steel & Worthington Enterprises. These roles pay well, start you off with benefits, and allow you to work with the latest technology and with your hands to create products. Send a message to Mr. Hunt in Canvas by Monday if you’re interested in hearing more and taking a field trip to their site.

Mr. Hunt has limited space for an opportunity for freshmen and sophomores interested in a future in the healthcare industry. “We are STEM” is a visit day to Columbus State to learn about high-growth careers and college pathways within healthcare. Ohio Health, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and the OSU Medical Center will have hands-on activities and information. Send Mr. Hunt a Canvas message to learn more about possibly going on this field trip on November 7th.

There are only three weeks left of college visits—don’t miss out! Next week’s visits:

• Wednesday: University of Cincinnati, University of Kentucky, Wittenberg University and Indiana University at Bloomington
• Thursday: Hiram College

Today is the last day of our National Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from September 15 to October 15. It began as a week-long celebration in 1968 under President Johnson and was expanded to a month by President Reagan 20 years later in 1988. Today, the Latino population in the United States today is over 60 million, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. This makes up 20% of the total population and is the largest racial or ethnic group. Latinos continue to help fuel our economy and enrich our nation as entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, entertainers, scientists, public servants, and much more.

The Baking Club will be hosting their next meeting today after school in room 121. If you are interested in making (and devouring) some spooky brownies, make sure you sign up, as spots are limited, and bring 5 dollars for supplies. 

Interact Club is having their October meeting right after school today. Everyone is welcome, even if you’ve missed previous meetings. We will be having a hygiene drive after the meeting. See the TV’s around the school for more information on what to bring.
