In recognition of Hispanic Heritage month we honor and thank our active duty military personnel as well as veterans.  Within the four military branches of the US Department of Defense it was reported in 2017 that 36% of active duty military are of Hispanic descent.  There are approximately 1.1 million veterans in the United States who are of Hispanic origin.

Please check your “Class of” Canvas page for your Bus #, Chaperone, and time you will be leaving TODAY. Please congratulate James Tarantine for his artwork selection in the “State of the Arts” at Ohio University. His artwork will be on display over the next few weeks.  James’ piece of art was selected from across the state through a rigorous process. Congratulations James!

Can you tumble on the basketball court? Do you have a lot of school spirit and energy? If so, come tryout for basketball cheer. Basketball Cheer Tryouts are Thursday, Oct. 26. 5pm-9pm in the Main Gym at Davidson

Your physical and Final Forms must be current. Bring a print out of your grades and attendance to the tryout.  Be sure to know the Fight Song. Standing and running tumbling will be executed on the gym floor, no mats or spots. Contact Coach Clark with questions.

Hilliard Davidson Girls Tennis is making history! All 7 Varsity players made it to the qualifying round at Sectionals. They will compete this coming Wednesday at Upper Arlington. This is the first time Hilliard Davidson Girls tennis has sent 4 players to Districts!



In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month we recognize Michelle Lynn Lujan Grisham. Lujan Grisham is an American lawyer and politician.  She was elected to the U.S. Congress in 2011, serving three terms in Washington on behalf of New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District.  Since 2019, she has been serving as the 32nd governor of New Mexico.  She is the first Democratic Latina to be elected governor in U.S. history.

Fears was the first Hispanic Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee in 1970.  From 1948 through 1956, Fears played wide receiver and tight end for the Los Angeles Rams. In his nine NFL seasons, Fears caught 400 passes for 5,397 yards and 38 touchdowns. Later in his life he became an assistant coach for the Rams and the Packers.  He was also an entrepreneur and military veteran.
