Ellen Ochoa is an American engineer, former astronaut, and former director of the Johnson Space Center. In 1993 Ochoa became the first Hispanic woman to go to space when she served on a nine-day mission aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery.

The Franklin County Board of Elections is looking for students 17 and older to work the polls on November 5th.  They are willing to pay approximately $170 for the commitment to participate.  If interested, please visit their website link for “Youth at the Booth”.  We are off school that day, so this is a great opportunity to make some money and learn more about our government.

Homecoming Week is here! Next week look forward to Powder Puff on Monday, Movie Night on Wednesday, Pep Rally Friday, and the Homecoming Dance on Saturday! All information can be found on Student Council’s Instagram @hdhs.sc or on any of the TVs around the building.

As part of Homecoming Week, Student Council is hosting a movie night this Wednesday, October 2nd on Davidson’s Lawn between the school and bus loop. Based on your votes, we will be showing Grown Ups! Doors open at 7:00 and the movie starts at 7:30. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased online through local level- the link can be found on Student Council’s instagram page. Davidson students ONLY!

GYMNASTICS TEAM!  We need YOU!! Please consider coming out for the Varsity Gymnastics team if you have gymnastics experience! Pre-Season Lifting is on Tuesdays from 6:15-7:00  in the Bradley Weight room (this is for all 3 High Schools). Tryouts are Nov 1st & 2nd.

Intramurals is hosting Ultimate Frisbee starting this Sunday from 3-4:00 at the Weaver football field. Everyone is welcome!

Do you like trivia? Want to show off your knowledge against other schools in Central Ohio? The Davidson Quiz Team is looking for new members! There will be a meeting in Rm228 on Thursday October 3rd and Thursday October 10th for anyone interested in joining. Please stop by for more information!
