Oscar Hijuelos was an American novelist, the son of Cuban immigrants, whose writing chronicles the pre-Castro Cuban immigrant experience in the United States, particularly in New York City. In 1990, he was the first Hispanic writer to win a Pulitzer Prize for his second fiction novel, “The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love”.

The Franklin County Board of Elections is looking for students 17 and older to work the polls on November 5th. They are willing to pay approximately $170 for the commitment to participate.
