Carlos Juan Finlay was a Cuban epidemiologist who in 1881 discovered that yellow fever is transmitted from infected to healthy humans by a mosquito. Although he published experimental evidence of this discovery in 1886, his ideas were ignored for 20 years.
Homecoming is this Saturday, October 5th from 7:30-10:00 pm at Davidson’s Stadium. Dress is semi-formal with no heels on the turf. Tickets are $20 for Davidson students and $25 for guests. Guests must be a Hilliard City Schools student or alumni 21 and younger (no middle school students). A guest form must be completed and turned in to the main office by Wednesday, October 2nd. Tickets can be purchased online through Local Level. To be admitted to the dance, students need to bring their Student ID.
As part of Homecoming Week, Student Council is hosting a movie night this Wednesday, October 2nd on Davidson’s Lawn between the school and bus loop. Based on your votes, we will be showing Grown Ups! Doors open at 7:00 and the movie starts at 7:30. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased online through local level- the link can be found on Student Council’s instagram page. Davidson students ONLY!

The Franklin County Board of Elections is looking for students 17 and older to work the polls on November 5th. They are willing to pay approximately $170 for the commitment to participate. If interested, please visit their website link for “Youth at the Booth”. We are off school that day, so this is a great opportunity to make some money and learn more about our government.
