HMS Sports Updates
The Heritage 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team tipped off their season at home against visiting Kilbourne Middle School in an exciting matchup on Thursday night. After weeks of hard work and preparation, the Panthers came out energized and took control early. Braxton Wingo set the tone, knocking down two three-pointers and finishing with 12 points. Heritage’s defense was locked in, playing connected and generating stops that fueled their offense. Behind a strong first half from Amir Keita, who also tallied 12 points, the Panthers entered halftime with a 26–15 lead. The second half was all Heritage, as they controlled the pace and involved all 12 players in the action. Maddox Hart added 10 points, while Zavier Hunter led all scorers with 14. Isaiah Jones chipped in with 5 points to round out the balanced effort. Heritage secured a convincing 53-37 win to start the season 1–0. The Panthers now look ahead to a road matchup on Tuesday against Dublin Davis Middle School.
