Sports:    The Cross-Country team ran against Upper Arlington Jones and Hastings as well as Groveport Tuesday evening.  In very warm weather, the Girls team came in first place while the Boys team came in second place.  Go Panthers!

First Friday Cookout : This Friday at lunch you can enjoy hot dogs and chips for lunch!  Bring cash to purchase Kona Ice and try to dunk one of our teachers in the Dunk Tank.  $1.00 for each try. We look forward to celebrating our first week at HMS.

Yearbooks:  Yearbooks were distributed from your social studies classes.  All extra yearbooks have been SOLD !

Genius Bar Applications Available for 2023-2024 School Year:  Attention 7th graders: Would you like to work as a Genius Bar student for next year in the Media Center?  Applications are available in the Media Center by the Genius Bar information display.  This is a semester course that you can substitute for one of your electives.  The application form has information about the position/course. See Ms. Best with any questions.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month:  The largest groups of Asian Americans have ancestors from China, the PhilippinesIndiaVietnamSouth Korea, or Japan. Many other Asian Americans have ancestors from CambodiaLaosPakistan, or Thailand.  In 1959, Hiram L. Fong, who was born in Honolulu and the son of poor Chinese immigrants, was sworn in as Hawaii’s first Asian U.S. Senator. On January 20, 2021, Kamala Harris was sworn in as the first female, first Black, and first Asian American vice president of the United States. As a former U.S. senator from California, she is the daughter of an Indian mother and Jamaican father.  The Media Center has two of her biographies, Kamala Harris by Erinn Banting and the e-book, Kamala Harris, Rooted in Justice by Nikki Grimes.

Cheerleading: If you are interested in trying out for cheerleading (football or basketball) at Heritage next year, please scan the QR codes that are hanging up around the building. We will have an informational meeting about summer conditioning and tryouts next Tuesday, May 23rd at 6pm in room 204 at Heritage. See Coach K in room 204 if you have any questions!
