Fund raising helps the PTO fund activities and programs that benefit the entire Washington Elementary community.
Washington’s annual Walk-a-Thon
Each year, the PTO sponsors a Walk-a-thon for its major fundraiser of the year. This fundraiser is a fun and fit activity for kindergarteners through fifth-graders to help raise funds, self-esteem and fitness awareness.
Funds raised from the Walk-a-thon are used to fund many school programs, including:
- bringing artists and authors to the school
- mini grants for teachers
- improvements in technology
- music programs
- playground equipment
Our students ask for community support by getting pledges from sponsors before the big event. On the day of the Walk-a-thon, students walk as many laps around the school as they can in an hour time period.
Volunteers needed for before, during and after event. Lots of chances to help with this important event
