Letter From the Principal

Dear HCSD Preschool Community,

I am honored and incredibly excited to step into the role of principal at HCSD preschool. I’ve served our preschool in the role of Special Education Coordinator for the last seven years, collaborating with IEP teams to ensure the highest quality programming for students. Prior to that, I was an Intervention Specialist in Hilliard for students in grades K-6 for eighteen years. These 25 years in special education have deeply shaped my core leadership values of equity, advocacy, and collaborative partnership. Inclusive education has been the anchor of my career and this background fundamentally informs my approach to leading a building where the majority of our students have unique learning needs. I strongly believe that targeted early intervention and specialized programming not only prepare our young learners to be kindergarten-ready, but lays the groundwork for a lifetime of success. Early education and intervention are vital to student success and HCSD is committed to providing this foundation for our students.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership and a Principal’s license from the University of Dayton. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outside, traveling, and reading most anything I can get my hands on.

Our educators and staff are the true backbone of our school community. I hold immense belief in their collective expertise and unwavering commitment to our students, and I look forward to supporting them as we foster an environment where every child can
thrive.

I look forward to partnering with all stakeholders to provide our preschool students with a strong foundation at the start of their school career. HCSD is where the adventure begins for our students and I’m honored and excited to be leading that journey as your
principal.
